Letter from the Pastor

Hey there!

I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. Whether you want to know who Jesus is, searching for community, or just curious about who we are, I want you to know this: you matter to God, and you matter to us.

At Imago Dei Church, we believe that every person is created in the image of God—and that means you are deeply known and loved by Jesus. Life can be messy, and questions can feel overwhelming, but the good news is that Jesus meets us right where we are. He offers hope, grace, redemption and a purpose that goes far beyond what we could imagine.

Our church is built on simple but powerful truths: we seek to love God, love others and make disciples of Jesus. We’re not perfect, but we’re a community that’s committed to walking with one another as we follow Jesus.

If you’re looking for a place where you can connect with others, wrestle with big questions, or simply be reminded that you’re not alone—you’re invited to join us any Sunday you would like. Come just as you are. We’d love to meet you and hear your story.

Our Values
Gospel Driven
1 John 4:9-10
We are committed to the Gospel, to its divine power to awaken hearts, and to living out the example it sets for us through the life of Jesus Christ.
9 God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him. 10 Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Community Focused
Hebrews 10:24-25
We will offer opportunities for people to experience community through a variety of ways including small groups and Sunday service.
And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.
Discipleship Centered
Acts 8:29-31
We will walk with others in one-on-one discipleship to equip them spiritually and emotionally to live out God’s purpose for their lives.
The Spirit told Philip, “Go and join that chariot.” When Philip ran up to it, he heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you’re reading?” “How can I,” he said, “unless someone guides me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
Church Planting
Matthew 28:19-20
We will equip future church planters through discipleship, leadership training, and partnership
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Story of Imago Dei Church
In 2022, Imago Dei Church began as a church plant with a simple but urgent calling: to bring the hope of the gospel to Spartanburg County, a place in need of truth, grace, and transformation. Our church was born out of a deep desire to see lives changed by the message of Jesus Christ and to be a community where people can experience His love and purpose.

From the beginning, our vision has been clear—to love God with everything we have, to love others as Christ loves us, and to make disciples who live out their faith daily. Whether it’s through worship, serving the community, or walking alongside one another in both joy and struggle, we seek to live out that mission in everything we do.
Today, we remain committed to that same vision, believing that every person is created in the image of God and has a place in His story. Our hope is to be a church where the broken are restored, the weary find rest, and everyone is empowered to grow in faith and share the good news of Jesus.

The story of Imago Dei Church is still being written, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. There's a place for you here—come and see what God is doing in and through our community.
